Current Focus: The Ordinary Price of Zero

Project Description

Analyzing classical demand theory to show that consumer behavior when a good has a price of zero, or is free, can be predicted. Because the behavior is predictable, it is rational.

Why does this topic interest you?

I am passionate about economics and research. Being able to combine the two has given me the opportunity to become familiar with the tried and true theories that serve as the foundation for the area. However, in this specific project, I have been able to apply these foundational topics to relatively new areas of the industry.

What are your professional aspirations?

I hope to become a professor of economics where I can continue doing research. I also hope to be a mentor to undergraduate students who are interested in research.

Do you have any advice for future researchers?

Don’t be afraid of the hard projects! It is completely okay to learn as you go, ask lots of questions, and feel challenged in your work. You will learn the most by pushing yourself out of your comfort zone.
